Product Description

Rail Shoulder GGG50
Rail Shoulder GGG45
Rail Shoulder GGG40

Rail shoulder is cast in the concrete rail ties to fix the elastic rail clips. There are two types of rail shoulders available, the cast-in shoulder and the weld-on shoulder, both of which are used for the fixing of elastic rail clips.

The casting shoulders as the embedded part of the rail way fastening system are pressed in concrete sleeper and work together with the E clip to fasten the rail. The cast in shoulder is made by casting from iron, following standards such as GB/T 1348-1988, NF EN 1563(1997), ISO1038, DIN 1693, JIS G5502 (2001), KS D 4302, GOST 7293(1985) or BS EN 1563(1997).

Types of Rail Shoulder

The Rail shoulder is a semi-embedded part cast in the concrete rail ties to fix the elastic rail clip to the base plate. Common types include Cast-in Shoulder and Weld-on Shoulder. Single Stem Iron Shoulders are used in pre-stressed concrete ties, while Twin Stem Iron Shoulders are used in Bi-Block or Twin Block concrete ties.

Cast-in Rail Shoulder Mechanical Property:
Material Tensile Strength(Mpa) Yield Strength(Mpa) Elongation(%)
QT400-15(GGG40) 400 250 15
QT450-10(GGG45) 450 310 10
QT500-7 (GGG50) 500 320 7
Weld-on Rail Shoulder:

Used at typical positions where the shoulder is welded on flat steel plates rather than standard tie plates. Produced via hot forging according to AREA standards using low or medium carbon steel. These are cost-effective for switch and crossing layouts where specific layout designs are required.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the main types of rail shoulders available?
The two primary types are cast-in shoulders, which are embedded in concrete sleepers, and weld-on shoulders, which are used on flat steel plates.
Which materials are commonly used for casting shoulders?
Common materials include Ductile Iron grades like QT400-15 (GGG40), QT450-10 (GGG45), and QT500-7 (GGG50).
Can these shoulders be used for heavy-haul railways?
Yes, they are designed to be compatible with various rail types including 50kg, 60kg, and UIC60 rails, making them suitable for standard and heavy-haul tracks.
What international standards do your rail shoulders comply with?
They comply with several global standards including GB/T 1348, ISO 1038, DIN 1693, and BS EN 1563.
Why are weld-on shoulders used in switches and crossings?
Weld-on shoulders offer flexibility in positioning, which is crucial for the complex vertical rail geometry found in switch and crossing layouts.
What is the daily production capacity?
The production capacity reaches up to 20,000 pieces per day to meet large-scale infrastructure requirements.
